*3.* The following announcement should be made to candidate at the beginning of the examination;
The examiner does not want you to waste your time because you can not proceed with any experiment . Any candidate therefore who can not get on with the experiment after spending 15 minutes on it may come to me and ask for help

*1.* Great care should be taken to ensure that the information given in item 2 – 3 below does not reach the candidates either directly or indirectly before examination.
*2.* In addition to fitting and reagents normally contain in chemical laboratory the following apparatus and materials will be required from each candidate.
A. One burette of 50cm³ capacity
B. One pipette either 20cm³ or 25cm³

*3.* Each candidate should be supplied the the followings where *n* is the candidates serial number.
A. 150cm³ of a solution HV13 in a corked flask or bottle lebelled *An* this should be all the same contain 9.0cm³ of concentrated HC1 (about 36%) per dm³ of solution.
B. 150cm³ of NaOH solution in a corked flash or bottle lebelled *Bn* this should be the same containing 4.8g of NaOH per dm³ of solution
C. One spatulaful of a uniform mixture of CuSO4 and (NH4)2CO3 in a specimen bottle and corked immediately and lebelled *Cn* The component of the mixture should be in ratio 1:1 by mass.
*4.* In all cases more material will be issued if required.
*5.* The actual concentration of *An* and *Bn* must be texted in the supervisor report form the candidate will assume that the concentration are exactly as stated in the question paper.
*6.* It should be noted that school are not Amend the information provided on the question paper or substitute any substance/solution for those specified in these instructions.
*ARRANGEMENTS AND SERIAL NUMBER OF CANDIDATES*
*7.* The laboratory place should be numbered serially and the candidate should be allotted these places strictly in the order of there index number. The number of each specimen supplied to each candidate should be the same as his or her serial number.
*8.* If a candidate is absent his or her serial number should not be allotted to another candidate.
*9.* If the candidates are divided in to a number of sets the serial number should continued through the sets. So that no serial number is repeated.
*10.* At the beginning of the examination, it should be assured that the candidate record their serial number as well as the index number on the front page of their answer booklets as they will be marked according to their serial number.
